    PATCHES Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

    Last updated 11 months ago

Do you know what PATCHES is? PATCHES is an incredible local charity started by 5 nurses who wanted to make a difference in the lives of children with extraordinary medical conditions. They believe that every child deserves to live free of pain and be as healthy as they can be to grow and play.

We're a big fan of PATCHES, are and proud to support their 6th Annual Spaghetti Dinner this Saturday, September 28th. Stop by the Woman's Club of Homestead, at 17905 SW 292 Street, from 5pm-9pm.  In addition to serving spaghetti, there will be a 50/50 meatball bingo and a silent auction.

PATCHES provides Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care for children ages birth to 21 years old. They are located at 335 South Krome Avenue in Florida City and are open from 6am to 6pm. Please contact Brandi at 305-242-8122 or Sharon at 786-255-5394 for information about tickets and sponsorship opportunities.

    Johanna Covarrubias reaches a decade!

    Last updated 12 months ago

CBF is proud to celebrate Johanna Covarrubias' 10th anniversary with the bank. Johanna is a customer service associate at the Main Office and came to us with several years of customer service experience outside of the banking industry. Although she is often seen in her teller window, she also balances the vault and handles the paperwork that goes along with it.

Johanna was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Homestead from Georgia back in 2002. She and her husband love to spend time at home with their two sons, who are their pride and joy. She is also an active volunteer at her older son's school, Keys Gate Charter. The family loves animals, and their household includes 4 rabbits, a few birds and a guinea pig.

    Kim Motta Honored

CBF congratulates Kim Motta, our Director of Loan Review, on her recent educational achievements. Kim was honored at the Center For Financial Training (CFT) graduation ceremony, where she received not only her Business Specialist Certificate but ALSO her Miami Dade College Associate in Science Degree in Financial Services. Way to go Kim!

CFT is the leading banker education system, serving almost half the states in the U.S. They've been around for close to 100 years, and enroll more than 10,000 financial institution employees in education and training programs each year. Almost every CFT graduation ceremony has a CBF employee honored and a large cheering section of teammates.

    Celebrating Sharon Wilson's Tenure

    Last updated 12 months ago

CBF is pleased to celebrate Sharon Wilson’s 20th Anniversary as a member of our Financial Family. Sharon is the bank’s Senior Vice President and Chief Residential Officer. She joined the bank with ten years of previous industry experience and has a wealth of mortgage knowledge. We refer to her to as our “mortgage expert.”

Sharon was born on Fort Dix Army Base in New Jersey, although she doesn’t have the accent to prove it. She has been a Homestead resident since the early 1980s and is very involved in local business and nonprofit organizations. She serves as a Board Member for the Homestead/Florida City Chamber of Commerce and is a past Chair of their Military Affairs Committee. She’s also very involved in mortgage organizations, including the Miami Mortgage Bankers Association and the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her mother (and best friend!) and fulfilling her bucket list.

Excited about her anniversary, Sharon stated, “Working here is like working for the greatest family you could have; not only are you cared about you as an individual, but we give back to the community in a big way.”
