    A Well Deserved Promotion!

    Last updated 5 months ago

CBF is proud to celebrate Joann Bower’s recent promotion to Assistant Financial Center Manager. Joann has been a part of our team for over seven years and excels at customer service and helping people find the best products to fit their needs. Hired as a part time teller, Joann was soon promoted to a full time personal banker and spent several years supervising a teller line. She has been preparing herself for advancement and when the opportunity came along, she was an obvious choice.

Joann has earned her General Banking and Banking Specialist Certificates from Miami Dade College and is a volunteer at Miami Vineyard Community Church. Her free time is devoted to her 11 year old daughter, who is a talented dancer. The two often attend theatrical and ballet dance performances because of their shared love for dance and Joann’s interest in theatrical makeup. She even has her own YouTube channel featuring her fashion and theater makeup artistry.

Joann was born in Miami but has come to love living and working in Homestead, stating, “I have had the opportunity to establish wonderful relationships with local residents and small business owners. I am grateful for how hospitable everyone has been and my family loves all the community events that are held. They give us a chance to spend quality time together.”

We'll be closed today, in honor of our heroes

Veterans Day is a tradition that dates back to November 11, 1919, when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed this day as Armistice Day in honor of all World War I veterans. Since then it has been observed as a federal holiday in honor of military veterans who served our great nation. Join us in thanking all veterans, for risking their lives to provide us security.

Are you familiar with Good Hope Equestrian Training Center (GHETC)? We've been a proud supporter for many years and were happy to donate to their recent golf tournament. We'd like to share what they were fundraising for - Horses Helping Heroes. The program has already provided equine assisted activities to more than 200 veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury, amputations, post-traumatic stress disorder and spinal cord injuries.

“We are helping our veterans to develop leisure skills and friendships, while also aiding them in their rehabilitative goals,” said Peggy Bass, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Center.  “In light of our documented and observational findings, we have found that the Good Hope Horses Helping Heroes project has helped the veterans in the following ways: increased self-confidence, depression and anxiety reduction, as well as decreased feelings of isolation and impulse modulation.”

Good Hope is a 20 acre facility in the Redlands that includes 14 horses, stables, riding areas, picnic areas and a clubhouse. In addition to the Horses Helping Heroes project, they help 400 disabled children and adults find hope and independence through working with horses. To find out how you can get involved call Good Hope Equestrian Training Center at 305-258-2838 or visit

    Veteran's Day Family Fun

The annual Homestead VFW Post 4127 Veteran’s Day Parade will be held on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at noon in downtown Homestead. This parade, honoring the memory of the men and women who have fought to defend our nation and liberty is the oldest and, usually, the largest Veteran’s Day celebration in Miami-Dade County. We encourage you to bring the family to this fun and patriotic event. Look for our Veterans walking with the bank’s 1920s vehicle, passing out candy and patriotic goodies. We hope to see you there!
