    CBF Supports Ladies Auxiliary

    CBF is pleased to support the Ladies Auxiliary Post #4127 in hosting their sixth annual Freedom Walk. The Freedom Walk is an event to reflect on the sacrifices of September 11th and express appreciation to our military men and women. It will be held on Saturday, September 8th at the VFW Post 4127, located at 601 NE 2nd Road in Homestead.

    The event is free and registration begins at noon. Activities include a reflection program, a two mile walk/jog/run/wheel, followed by a Celebration of Freedom at 2pm that includes lunch. Children and pets are welcome. Proceeds remaining after the event will be donated to the VFW Unmet Needs Fund, which assists soldiers with unexpected difficulties.     Jaime Ramos Earns Diploma

    CBF is pleased to announce Jaime Ramos has received his Banking Specialist Diploma through the Center for Financial Training at Miami Dade College. Mr. Ramos currently works in the Deposit Operations Department and has been a part of the financial family for nine years. He began his career at the bank as a loan processor and gained experience within the Special Assets Department before he moved to Deposit Operations. For the last five years he has handled the coordination of remote capture machines and has specialized in charge offs and recoveries.  

    In addition to his recent diploma, Jaime holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Miami Dade College. His goal is to continue developing his banking expertise by earning a diploma in credit analysis and a degree in finance, so that in the future he can become a loan officer. Jamie was born in Miami and currently resides in Homestead. He is proud of his Mexican American heritage and gives back every year by fundraising to purchase book bags and school supplies for local middle school aged migrant children. In his free time he enjoys playing musical instruments including the guitar, keyboard and drums. He is an excellent bartender and is often seen serving refreshments at Community Bank parties.   

    Mr. Ramos states, “As a bank and society, we struggle to recover from the recent economic recession, but we should look at this as an opportunity. This is a chance to enter a new future and provide our customers with not only excellent customer service and products but financial education and stability for the future. I am proud to work at a place that embraces a traditional “family” atmosphere that reflects onto our customers.”

    Sonia Davis celebrates 15 years with us!

    CBF is proud to celebrate Sonia Davis’s 15th Anniversary as a member of their Financial Family. Mrs. Davis is currently the Manager of the Loan Operations Department. Her day to day tasks include supervising and motivating the department and providing service to bank customers and employees. 

    Sonia previously served in the Army, dedicating six years as a medic. She began her banking experience in 1997, joining Community Bank as a vault attendant. Through the years, she has continued to work her way up and earned her General Banking Certificate from the American Institute of Banking.

    Sonia was born in Hawthorne, California and currently lives in Leisure City, where she feels blessed to work so close to home. She is extremely proud of her son, who is currently attending the police academy. In her free time, she enjoys walking, anything sports related and spending time with family and friends. Enthusiastic about her position, Sonia stated, “When my family moved to Homestead 39 years ago, I never would have imagined that I would grow up in a great town and work for a wonderful company like Community Bank of Florida!”

    April Slater Celebrates 10th Anniversary!

    CBF is proud to celebrate April Slater’s 10th Anniversary as a member of our Financial Family. Mrs. Slater is currently an Executive Assistant in the Commercial Loan Area, with responsibilities that include administrative and executive support related tasks on behalf of the Executive Vice President.

     April is a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In 1981, she completed her military service and began her career in banking. She has previous experience working as a teller, teller supervisor, lending assistant and administrative assistant. She has taken several courses at Miami-Dade College and is a Dale Carnegie graduate.

     April was born in Syracuse, New York and currently lives in the Redlands with her husband and mother-in-law. They have four adult children and four grandsons. She is very excited that her fifth grandson will arrive in September. In her free time, she enjoys photography, traveling and spending time with family.

     Enthusiastic about her anniversary, April stated, “I am proud and Blessed to be part of the Community Bank of Florida family and thankful for the opportunity to work with and for such wonderful people. I have enjoyed my first ten years and I look forward to many more!”
