The event benefits victims of violence and was held at the Homestead Miami Speedway. Everyone who completed the race received a medal and goodie bag. Three of our team members were surprised to place in the race- Myra and Evelyn tied for 3rd in the 55+ age group and Amanda won 3rd in the 31-55 group. Community Bank of Florida employees were pleased to attend the Dade County Farm Bureau’s 2013 Women in Agriculture Luncheon. This year, the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee honored Margie Buster and Carolyn DeMott, who are partners in the family business, Alpha Foliage. In addition to their passion for working in the nursery, these ladies are successful in other ventures. Carolyn started a thriving accounting firm, which she has handed down to her children. Margie runs the nonprofit organization she created in 1995, Redland Tropical Gardens with a mission of preserving agriculture. Congratulations to these outstanding female role models!
