    Charlotte's Milestone Anniversary

    Last updated 4 years ago

CBF is pleased to celebrate Charlotte Camburn’s 5th Anniversary!  Charlotte is a Deposit Operations Representative at the Main Office and she enjoys being able to help customers and counsel them on banking needs over the telephone. She is also the person behind the scenes who makes foreign checks and savings bonds process smoothly.

Growing up in the Homestead area has given Charlotte a sense of community. She knows her customers very well and has formed a second family at the bank. Excited about her anniversary, Charlotte stated, “Community Bank has given me the opportunity to touch the lives in our community by not only meeting their needs but to be a friend when in need.

    Spotlight on: Cuban Delight Cafe

    Last updated 4 years ago

Looking for authentic Cuban food in the Lakeland area? Stop by Cuban Delight Cafe. We asked owner Yoany Rodriguez to share his story:

“I have been a chef in a family owned business for almost 20 years. I came to the United States and moved to Lakeland to open my own restaurant, Cuban Delight. We’ve been open for five years now and have grown to love the area. We’ve been lucky enough to showcase our food at the Taste of Polk and the Sabor De Polk Hispanic Festival. We even won an award in 2011!

Our customers are very important to us, and we like that our bank feels the same way. We have a personal relationship with our bank. Sofia is not just my banker, she is also my customer. She has given us exposure by using our services for bank events and also helped me save money with my credit card processor. Community Bank of Florida is the best bank I’ve ever had.”

Visit Cuban Delight at 1039 E County Road 540A or call 863-701-0190.

    Geneva Josephs, an Optimist

    Last updated 4 years ago

CBF was pleased to make a donation to the Leisure City/Modello Optimist Club of Florida. The Optimist Club is a non-profit that sponsors five teams in the Miami Stream Youth Football League, including the well known Timberwolves. Players range in ages from five to fourteen and although the competition is extremely fierce, they have been awarded top prizes in recent years.

You may recognize the woman accepting the check, Mrs. Geneva Josephs. As the Director of Optimist Club, she has been working hard for the youth in our community since 1998. She started out taking neighborhood children to school and football practices and decided she wanted to get more involved. She connected with the Optimist Club and has been running the concessions and sponsorships since then. Every game she cooks up a storm to raise money. She takes many of the players to practice at Modello Park and to after-school tutoring. She has counted on Community Bank for the last several years because their funding comes directly from donations. They are required to provide transportation for the players to and from the games, as well as pay for certified referees. These referees run $200 each and with 4 referees required per game, the costs go up quickly. The group continues to fundraise and seek corporate and individual sponsorships. If you would like to help support them, please contact Geneva Josephs at (305) 969-0061 or email her at
