    Welcome Ellison Powell

    Last updated 7 months ago

CBF is excited to announce that Ellison Powell has joined the team as a Vice President. Ellison will oversee the credit risk department, implementing loan policies and ensuring the quality of the bank’s loans. His 40 years of banking has given him a strong background in lending, financial analysis, underwriting skills and extensive managerial experience. His job may be a serious one, but Ellison's cheerful and good-natured attitude are a pleasant contrast.

Ellison was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but comes to us from a bank in Easley, South Carolina. He and his wife were happy to relocate to the Miami area and be near one of their two adult children. Excited to join the team, Ellison expressed, “I was attracted to Community Bank because of their commitment to customer service and local decision making.”

    Gillian's Milestone

CBF is pleased to celebrate Gillian Paul’s 5th Anniversary as a member of our Financial Family. Gillian is a Personal Banker at the Community Centre Office. She joined the team as a seasoned banker, with almost ten years of industry experience.

Gillian was born in Guyana, on the northern coast of South America. She is the seventh child of nine siblings, and although they reside in various parts of the world, they are a closely knit, loving family. They enjoy returning to their home country periodically, to spend quality time with their elderly parents who are both alive and doing very well at age 88. Aside from traveling, Gillian also enjoys volunteering with her church, and as a jogger and all around sports fanatic, she makes sure to participate on the bank’s annual Mercedes Benz 5K Charity Corporate Run team.

Excited about her anniversary, Gillian stated, “Community bank gives me the opportunity of a great quality of life and finding a happy balance between work and friends and family.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Community Bank of Florida!

The Homestead Soup Kitchen is in dire need of funding for supplies and upgrades. We were pleased to make a small donation and encourage you to support them, even if you just drop off some canned food items (which you can always bring to us and we'll deliver them).

The Homestead Soup Kitchen is located at 105 S.W. 3rd Avenue and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 noon to 1:30pm. To make a donation, volunteer to serve meals, or for more information call (305) 245-7448.

    Backpack Donation

    Last updated 8 months ago

CBF has once again partnered with Miami Dade County’s Juvenile Services Division to provide book bags for local families in need. This year, we were able to supply backpacks for 30 children in the program.

The Juvenile Services Division provides victim offender mediation, restitution, community work services, educational and vocational intervention. They act as a vital safety net to catch troubled youth before they fall further into lifestyles of crime and deviance. Many of the children served are from underprivileged families who are not financially able to purchase school supplies.
