Community Bank Supports Keys Gate Charter Swim Team

    Last updated 2 years ago

Community Bank of Florida was pleased to make a donation to the Keys Gate Charter School and Keys Gate Charter High School swim team. The Knights swim team is comprised of students between 6th and 10th grade. They have been fundraising to support the cost of pool rental, transportation and team equipment.

Coaches Peggy Wells and Yand Martinez stress the importance of teamwork and character building. They require the students to have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in order to participate. The swimmers travel to other schools to compete, and are learning not only to become better athletes, but also to learn life skills.

Community Bank Sponsors Leisure City/Modello Optimist Club

Community Bank of Florida was pleased to make a donation to the Leisure City/Modello Optimist Club of Florida. The Optimist Club is a non-profit organization that sponsors many different youth sports, including Football, Basketball, Track and Cheerleading. They are currently affiliated with the Miami Xtreme League, comprised of twenty-two different member parks with over 3,500 football players and 1,500 cheerleaders. Children range in ages from five to fifteen and although the competition is extremely fierce, many local athletes have won championships and have been awarded top prizes in recent years.

In addition to providing sports recreation, the Optimist Club strives to teach kids the philosophy of being optimistic, having an active interest in government and civic affairs, as well as inspiring respect for laws. Their motto is ‘every child is a winner.’  Their funding comes directly from donations, and they are seeking corporate and individual sponsorships. If you would like to help support them, please contact Geneva Josephs at (305) 969-0061.

    SPOTLIGHT on Native Construction

    Last updated 2 years ago

Our latest customer testimonial in the Florida Keys featured Native Construction Contracting Inc. The owner, Brett Ekblom, was born with contracting in his blood and grew up in the Keys. We asked Brett to tell us more about his work, and how he feels about his banking relationship with us. Here's what he had to say:

"Native Construction Contracting, Inc., was incorporated in 2003. We are a full service General Contractor with considerable experience in the marine environment. We offer complete project management while being an environmentally conscious development company. Our projects range from boat docks, piers, sea walls and beaches to commercial buildings, condominiums, private residences, pools and landscaping.

Our goal is to give customers quality craftsmanship. We focus on building relationships with them while we work on their dream project. My banker Christine has the same outlook. She has worked hard at forming our “banker/client” relationship, making it a WINNER! She works closely with my office taking care of all our banking needs. She is always there when we need her and we couldn’t be happier.”

You can find out more and see many of Brett's impressive projects on his website, or give him a call at (305) 852-3116.
