    Colleen Boggs Honored!

    Last updated 1 year ago

Community Bank of Florida is extremely proud to announce Colleen Boggs was selected by the Alliance of Aging to receive their Environmental Award at the Annual Positive Living Awards Ceremony. The Positive Living Awards honor outstanding seniors over age 60 who “give back” to the community.

Mrs. Boggs is a dynamic woman. After building a successful business, raising a family and breaking numerous glass ceilings, she has continued to make a difference. Colleen has served as president of the Dade County Farm Bureau and has been a board member since 1976. She has been an advocate for farmers and nursery growers, traveling to Tallahassee to acquaint legislators with issues affecting agriculture. She was the first woman to become chapter president of the Dade County Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA) and in 1986 became the association’s second female state president. She has been a member of Community Bank of Florida’s board of directors since 1988 and became the first woman elected chair in 2001.

Colleen has served on numerous local boards and has a long list of accomplishments. She has been named Outstanding Agriculturalist of the Year and in 2006 was inducted into the FNGLA Hall of Fame. In 2009, she entered and conquered the Heartland Triathlon for the first time, placing second in her age group. Although she is over 60, she has not slowed down. She is a loving mother, grandmother and outstanding role model. We are proud to have her as a leader of our financial family.

Jacob Sevilla has two reasons to celebrate!

    Last updated 1 year ago

Community Bank of Florida is proud to celebrate Jacob Sevilla’s 5th Anniversary as a member of their Financial Family. In addition, we are proud to announce he has taken an opportunity in  the Accounting Department as an Accounting Representative.

Mr. Sevilla has become a well rounded bank employee, with previous experience on the front line serving as a teller and opening accounts. For the past two years, he has been a part of the Electronic Banking Department team, where he provided customer service for online banking services and assisted customers in processing and investigating debit card fraud cases. His move to the accounting department is in line with his career goals, as he is on track to complete his Associate’s Degree in Business Administration next semester and plans to transfer to Florida International University to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.

Jacob was born in Honduras and relocated to the South Florida area at a very young age. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, reading, watching comedies with his wife and being involved with the youth of his church, Alpha and Omega. When asked what inspires him, Jacob quoted Bill Gates, “It is fine to celebrate success but it’s more important to heed the lessons of failure.”
