    Robert Epling Honored by Florida International University

    Community Bank of Florida is extremely proud to announce Robert Epling, CEO and President, was recently awarded an FIU Medallion. The Cal Kovens Distinguished Community Service Award was conferred by FIU President Rosenberg during the Fall Commencement exercises, held at the U.S. Century Bank Arena.

    Mr. Epling was given the award based on many years spent as an active business and civic leader. During his four decades in commercial banking, he has served as president of banks in Kentucky and Florida, as well as an assistant bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, D.C. His experience includes more than 30 years as an agricultural lender and tropical fruits farmer.

    A past president of the Florida Bankers Association and the Orange Bowl Committee, and chairman of the 1996 South Florida Olympic Soccer Organizing Committee, Epling is deeply committed to South Florida. His interests range from college football to scientific research. As chairman of the International Hurricane Research Center (IHRC) at FIU, he worked tirelessly to help further research that will mitigate damage from storms, which he witnessed firsthand as he assisted in the rebuilding efforts in Homestead after Hurricane Andrew. His dedication to the IHRC earned him the 1999 University Distinguished Service Award.

    Throughout his career, the Florida Bankers Association Legends Award winner has lent his time and efforts to numerous boards and foundations. He currently is on the boards of the Dade County Farm Bureau and AVMED Health Plans.

    Renee Reichling Appointed to WeCare Board

    Community Bank of Florida is pleased to announce Renee Reichling has been appointed to the board of directors of WeCare of South Dade. Mrs. Reichling has been part of the Community Bank family since 2006, as Senior Vice President of the Commercial Loan Department. She has extensive banking experience, most of which has been spent specializing in Commercial and Commercial Real Estate lending.

    In addition to her involvement with WeCare, Renee is also a board member of Junior Achievement, a past President of the Junior Orange Bowl Committee, and a member of Commercial Real Estate of Women (CREW). She is also involved in CREW Careers, which promotes the interest of female high school students in fields related to Commercial Real Estate.

    About WeCare: WeCare was formed by public school and law enforcement leaders in the mid-1980s. Of the seven chapters initiated countywide, the Homestead/Florida City Chapter is the only one still active. It was designed to bring together representatives from local social service agencies in an effort to network and share information.

    Today, WeCare has more than 100 active members that include social service providers, educators, businesses, ministers, and residents. Members represent every aspect of human service - health, education, emergency shelter and assistance, childhood development, entrepreneur training, domestic abuse, farm worker aid and assistance, elder care, and many more.     James Chung Celebrates His Ten Year Anniversary!

    Community Bank of Florida is pleased to celebrate James Chung’s 10th Anniversary as a member of the Financial Family. James is the Assistant Manager of the Florida City Financial Center, located at 302 West Palm Drive. He was originally hired as a teller, but his interest in taking on new responsibilities eventually moved him up to a personal banker. In 2009, he was promoted to Assistant Manager. Today he concentrates on business development, managing day to day operations and supporting his manager in leading the team to meet and exceed goals.  

    James was born in Canada and currently lives in the Homestead area. He graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School and received his Associate of Arts Degree from Miami Dade College. He is an avid tennis player and has been a member of the United States Tennis Association for over four years. Excited about his anniversary, James stated, “I am proud to work for an institution that remains deeply committed to serving the local community, people, and businesses of Florida.”

    Audra Hill, CPA, Appointed to Keys Regional Board of Directors

    Community Bank of Florida is proud to announce that Audra L. Hill, CPA and local Keys resident, has been appointed to the bank's Keys Regional Board of Directors. 

    Ms. Hill's professionalism and commitment to community service make her a welcome addition to the board. After graduating from Coral Shores Senior High School, she attended Stetson University earning her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. From there she attended the University of Miami, where she earned her Master of Science in Taxation.

    Audra is a Certified Public Accountant and a partner in Tolley & Hill, PLLC. She is involved in numerous organizations throughout the Keys and currently serves on the boards of the Upper Keys Business and Professional Women, Leadership Monroe County, Key Largo Community Preservation Foundation, Jack Hill Child Care Center, Mariners Hospital Young Philanthropists of Baptist Hospital and Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition.

    In her free time, Audra enjoys fishing, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.  Looking forward to her new position on the Board, Audra stated, “I am truly excited to be member of this Board. I have admired Community Bank for many years and I look forward to forging a relationship that will help the bank secure the position as the top banking institution in the Upper Keys and South Florida.

    Lucy Baker Celebrates a Decade with Community Bank!

    Community Bank of Florida is pleased to celebrate Lucy Baker’s 10th Anniversary as a member of our Financial Family. Mrs. Baker is an Executive Secretary, handling day to day responsibilities for the President. She has been in the banking industry since 1983 and has previous experience in the Human Resources area.

    Mrs. Baker is a true Miami native, born in Miami Beach and living in the Miami area all of her life. She and her husband Joe have been married for 40 years and have 2 children. They also have a six year old granddaughter, who is the light of their lives. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, specifically raising orchids, and spending time on the water swimming and boating.  Lucy is known for her positive attitude and states. “I can truly say that I enjoy coming to work every day and enjoy working here at Community Bank of Florida, my family away from home.”
