CBF was recently highlighted at a Homestead Job Corps meeting for participating in their Community Relations Council. Our own Julie Romero has given countless hours serving the advisory board and mentoring students located there. The time spent is a wise investment, as Job Corps is making our community a stronger work force.
Job Corps has been around for almost 50 years, providing no-cost education and career technical training programs to young people aged 16 through 24. Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, the Homestead Job Corps currently serves a student population of 353. They have the capacity for 391 students and are actively enrolling new students. Potential applicants and their families are invited for a tour/orientation every Thursday morning at Homestead Job Corps Center by calling Senior Admissions Counselor, Karen Dean, at 305-258-7158 or Business and Community Liaison, Lesly Diaz, at 305-257-4807.
