Robert "Bob" Epling, President and CEO of Community Bank of Florida, was recently re-appointed to The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Board of Directors. He has served on the board for four years and will continue to serve for a term of three years, among the ranks of Jim Cook, Jeffrey Immelt, Roger Staubach and Jim Nantz.
Epling was chosen to serve on the Board partly because of his role with the Orange Bowl Committee, which he has been a member of since 1983 and served as the 60th President. He has numerous other ties to football, including playing a lineman at South Dade High School prior to playing collegiate ball on a full athletic scholarship at Furman University.
Epling works closely with South Dade High School’s Concourse of Champions, which honors great athletes who have played at the school. His new position will allow him to recognize some of the best college athletes ever to play. He will also be part of a selection committee that names Hall of Fame Inductees.
